An illustration commission featuring a gathering of bear tourists along the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

This project was a fun challenge because of the iconic buildings and other structures. I have never been there myself, but I’m glad it’s well documented. The research helped.

I worked in the very prescriptive style used by animation background artists. It is a nice way to build a very clear illustration, but to be honest, it’s not my favorite way to draw. I’m learning how disinterested I am in accuracy versus loose and energetic drawing with no straight lines. Still, it’s clean and not overburdened with sketch lines – very unlike my typical work.
