Another illustration attempting to capture the dichotomy of drawing & painting. I’m always interested in the way still images attempt to freeze a momentary experience.
There were two illustrations – one to represent primarily drawing and one for painting.
The illustration for Drawing started with a pencil sketch and light ink wash. I also did a secondary ink drawing over the pencil on vellum, which was digitally colored in Photoshop.
I really only liked the finished illustration for painting so I integrated some drawing into that piece to finish it. Not a brilliant success, but… you know, good experience.
